The Micronationalist Awards!
#31
Enough, Gentlemen. I ask you to please take that conversation in private.
This is a about a Micronationalist Award event, not a political argument.
I hope you can find some understanding and just deal with it.

Thank You!

Otherwise, please tone it down, we are friends here with the like cause of micronationalism, we don't need to disrespect each other.

I thought you were socialist?

I have mixed values between Socialism and Communism. Officially Bromenia would be classified as Communist.

I am intimately familiar with the ways that the USSR was not a true communist nation... I am also familiar with the ways in which every communist nation in history started with fairy tale communist ideals that were completely corrupted by the application of simple human nature. I am also aware that every communist nation in history has been a complete and utter failure in applying true communism, so please understand why I view those "true communists" with a bit of skepticism. Also, if you're so deeply offended by the use of sarcasm in jest, then I dare to say that you'll have a rough time on the internet. I saw an opportunity to make a joke about a system that too often gets a pass because it is associated with those who get violently offended at any suggestion that their world view is anything but perfect, and hey, someone got offended.

I did not insult you, I did not insult your country, and I did not even insult your system of government - just the application of it that is, by your own assertion, infinitely corrupt and not indicative of true communism (but at the same time, what the world at large thinks of as a representative of pure communism)

At this point you would have a couple of options:

A) You could agree that soviet communism was a farce and that it would have no place in a micronational award, but that true communism is an ideal that you are striving for (kudos for that, by the way)

B) You could insert your own witty joke here. There are a lot to choose from... it doesn't even have to be particularly funny. Something that shows "hey, I'm from the modern far left and I'm not easily offended by something that was quite clearly said in jest!"

C) You could continue with your day and add something meaningful to the thread

D) You could become offended, and let me know just how offended you are, and that you don't appreciate someone making a joke about a system of government that, as you say, isn't even representative of your own.

In the mean time, I will continue to go about my business and wade through the myriad of comments about George W. Bush, American Imperialism, Capitalist Oppression, and all the others that get thrown around on so regular of a basis that I chose to simply ignore or shrug off without getting offended by them. Because hey, if someone has made up their mind, there's not a whole lot I can do to change their opinion, now is there?

But you're right. We are all friends here, united in micronationalism, and I am interested in finding out more about your application of true communism (my mother was a psychology major in college and wrote a thesis entitle "Jesus Christ: The First Communist." ...This was at the University of Alabama... In the 60's... it was not well received)

B) I hate going to KFC, they can never guarantee I get the left wing!
