Gun Control/Rights Thread (Redirected)

That doesn't make any sense. Do you know what criminals even do to get weapons. Do you think they just go down to the corner store and purchase a 9mm?

Good God Man.

Go find out what criminals are and what they do before you develop an opinion on trying to stop them; because they do not buy weapons legally in the first place.

Your idea is as dumb as arming them, hoping that they'll just kill each other off.

I know what the black market is, Jackson. I am saying background checks is important. I hope you agree with me.

Of course I agree with background checks.

No, you don't understand.

Let's say Jackson and I are in a room,
I'm the criminal :@ - He's the citizen .
You disarm him, for the sake of gun control. :sleepy:
Now, I do whatever I want, because I'm in control. Your silly law doesn't affect me- because people who break the law- BREAK THE LAW.

Background checks isn't a problem- their "seeing it as a first step" is the problem.

You do know that 92 precent of gun owners in the US want a background check? So you are saying that a simple idea that is supported by the overwhelming majority of gun owners in America is a stupid idea?

I should have said this earlier, but I forgot.

So, Paravia, maybe the Second Amendment was to prevent slave escapes. Maybe not. I don't have evidence to one side or the other. But regardless of what it was intended to do, it had some very good consequences.

Remember seventy years ago, WW2? Maybe not personally, but you all know what I'm talking about. Let's look at the Pacific theater for a bit. The Japanese came frighteningly close to invading American territory. They even managed to succeed in bombing the Alaskan shore and parts of California via hot air balloon. Not the best way, but it almost worked. The top Japanese generals had many a debate about invading mainland America, and you know what the deciding factor was? The Second Amendment. Japan was afraid of America because of the Second Amendment. They were afraid they would land at California and have to fight every inch of the way against an armed citizenry. And that is why they never attacked. Second Amendment rights saved America in WW2!

Another story. Down in McMinn County, Tennessee, also around the time of WW2, the mayor and sheriff were corrupt and basically managed to control the county's politics and stay in charge. When the GI's returned from the war, and saw what was happening, they made their own party, the Veteran's Party, and had their own candidate run for office. Of course, the people loved them, and it was nearly sure that the Veterans would win. The corrupt mayor also noticed this, so he sent some of his cronies to storm the polls and bring the ballots to the town hall for counting, a violation of US law. The Veterans used their Second Amendment rights to raise the people and storm the town hall so the votes could be counted according to law. The mayor called the National Guard, but they didn't come until morning of the next day. During the night, the Veterans and people managed to break into the building and rescue the ballot boxes. When the National Guard did arrive, they backed the Veterans anyway. Again, Second Amendment rights stopped corruption.

In summary, we need the Second Amendment, to protect ourselves against all kinds of criminals, whether they wear a hood or a classy suit, we have guns so we can fight back if necessary.

And I'm not even from Texas.

Now that is something you can't argue with.

Also, the founding fathers created the second amendment to protect the U.S from another hostile takeover. It saved our bacon in the war of 1812.

Now, far-leftists are angrily telling us that we are close-minded and don't know what's the best for us. Now they want to disarm us, and socialise our services so that we depend on them.

Our founding fathers warned us of you, and wrote a clause in our constitution protecting us from you.

Dear Lord I hate Autocorrect sometimes.

Thank you, Jackson. I will certainly enjoy keeping an eye on this thread, for sure. It will be interesting to see what arguments I get.

I never said the 2nd amendment was bad. All I said was that it was originally made with the intention to prevent slaves from escaping, and that background checks are important. Also the main reason Japan never invaded the US was because most of the Imperial Japanese navy's aircraft carriers where sunk at the Battle of Midway, and therefore ment that Japan would have little to no air support if they where to invade America, and that they needed the carriers to protect against american carriers. Japan also had a plan to bomb american cities with chemical weapons from planes launched from submarine Aircraftcarriers.

In fact here is a full documentary about these submarine aircraft carriers.

Also King John, I never said I wanted to disarm the American population. I said that background checks are important, how does it go from that to "HA HA I AM GOING TO TAKE YOU GUNS AWAY! MUWHAHAHAHA"
