Dissolution of the Kermadec Union
#1
Well, it's been quite a while. This organization has lasted longer than most that have emerged here on the forums, and for that I am proud. We, the member states of the Kermadec Union, have built an organization that was originally designed to ensure that each of us would make it to indisputable sovereignty at the end of the day.

Unfortunately, times change, and so did the course of the respective nations that agreed to join this once-proud organization. Zenrax has gone into a more transitionally oriented phase as it searches for a proper place to either build or purchase a new and permanent capital. Communitaria has established itself in a similar phase, with its goals moving elsewhere than originally intended. DSL has changed its resettlement plans to include a place that is far out of the reach of its allies.

Overall, this organization can no longer sustain our alliance as it stands. With our slowly diverging goals and ever-shifting events, we have decided to finally disband the Kermadec Union, effective today. It's been a good ride, and we succeeded in forming an organization that stood the test of time far better than many other short-lived organizations have. It's a testament to the ability of those whose goals align and their will to succeed in anything they set their hands to.

With that being said, I'll leave this thread open for any closing remarks from the members before I close the organization's doors permanently.

My biggest regret is that we had such a great charter, and a great purpose for existing. But we were too different to make it work in the end. I will, however, value the friends I made in the process of establishing and being apart of the Kermadec Union. It was an intermicronational organization like no other, and I wouldn't be surprised if its ideals are reborn in the future.

Essentially, Zenrax is simply looking for a place that it can call a proper capital. It needs a place where it can either build or adopt as the Head of State's Residence as well as serve as an effective governing building. Any nation's capital can easily serve as an image for that entity for the rest of the world to see. For the United States, it has Washington, D.C. and its related buildings (among other national icons). Mexico has its own capital to use for cultural heritage purposes, as do many other countries.

That is, in a nutshell, what we're aiming for in the upcoming years.

This is distressing. IMO an organisation like the KU -- dedicated to making the micro-to-macronational transition -- is really needed. While much of what I read re: the KU was confusing (mostly because I am not familiar with the DSL et al) I admired the resolve of it's constituents; and had planned to petition for entry once my Super Secret Micronational Project ™ was launched. Vale, you magnificent beast.

In the future, there may be plans to set up an organization that has goals similar to those the KU expressed in its original charter. However, it will obviously be some time before one is actually off the ground and running again.

How much citizens do you have now?

I suggest you try out my concept of Microirredentism I mentioned in one of my threads when it comes to getting citizens and members. Essentially get more citizens to join you, and any land they own or occupy is added expansion to your Micronation.

i don't have a whole lot to say that isn't just what Suzuki said here but put less eloquently. i really really liked all the people in the Union, and they were all patient with me and answered all my questions as an incredibly tiny, inexperienced micronation. i think that the fact we were all so different was a blessing and a curse, but for me it was an incredible learning experience. i got to meet a lot of people who were all pretty radically different from one another, and that was absolutely formative for Hiraeth as a nation, and i'm sure it was a force of good for everyone else involved.

i'm sad to see it go, but happy i got to be a part of it.

Excuse me, Emperor Thomas, however what will become of the 2016 November Agreements since the Kermadec Union is now dissolving?
