Disappointing to say the least. It truly saddens me Jonathan is so desperate for activity to welcome you, while you're nothing but criminal filth.

"Criminal filth." I like the sounds of that...

Also, I love how everybody with a beef towards the community blames Emperor Jonathan for everything they do not wish to see.

So, here is an interesting development. I have been allowed to form my own federative in Zenrax. This has been in the works since mid-July, but after my departure from DSL later that month, and being recalled in September to cast my vote to collapse DSL, it's kind of been pushed to the side.

This state will be known as the Principality of San Dover. Or just San Dover. It's named after a spin-off micronation I created and lead between 2013 and 2014. My old user profile here, Akiho, is from that project. In turn it's named after Sandover Village, the main hub in one of my favorite video games, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

I plan on modeling San Dover after Liechtenstein or Monaco. I don't really have land claims at the moment, but I'm thinking about adopting Zenrax's plans of buying a castle and going from there, spending the intervening time building up the populace and making sure San Dover is ready for such a transition.

I guess this means I'm back into the serious side of micronationalism. Speaking of which, Sunþrawegaz is still independent of both Zenrax and San Dover. it's just a small hobby off to the side, like my model airplanes or my map-making. A very lazy hobby, but I still enjoy it very much, and I don't intend of ending or changing it.

Anyways, two people from DSL are probably going to be drawn into San Dover: former Defense Secretary Cheyenne Talavan, and Project Red Lightning's chief mathematician Antonio Babic. Both men have shown to be the most dedicated individuals in the past two years in DSL, and both have easy life schedules to work around. Cheyenne is already on board, but no final word from Antonio yet.

Lastly, I wish to share San Dover's flag. Truth be told, I did not make this, but I did get permission to use it from the person who did. The relationship between Venus and San Dover may be convoluted, but San Dover translates as "Holy Water." As there is nothing holier than a god (or goddess), that part is down. Venus rose from the ocean, so we've got the water. Also, the female symbol is something of a nod to the original San Dover, which was a matriarchy. Plus, Venus is my favorite planet. I even did my senior paper on it.

Welcome back, Suzuki! I don't care what others say, I'm glad to see you back. And welcome to Zenrax, as well! I'm sure you'll fit right in.

Glad to see you back into the serious side of micronationalism. What sorts of goals and objectives do you have with San Dover? When you said you're going to buy a castle, are you referring to an actual historical fortress in rural Europe, or more of a single estate to act as your capital? I am asking because I have done the latter, and I am endeavoring towards the former.

Remember that we don't live in ye olde anymore, so unless it's for the aesthetic aspects (completely understandable), you can find more pragmatic options than a castle if need be.

Speaking for myself, it is for aesthetic and historical purposes (I would be somewhat annoyed if I owned a historical castle and someone actually tried to besiege me) - I like historical things, and items that have a story behind them... the same reason why I collect antique swords and arms, cherish my grandfather's and great grandfather's medals from WWI & WWII (respectively) and would like to purchase at least a piece of the tract of land originally granted to one of my ancestors at Jamestown.

Honestly, I am not sure yet. I am also not sure where I want to look to find a castle, or if I should work towards building my own. I do have a pet plan I'm considering:

1) Save up or get investors to buy or build a castle to serve as the capitol base of San Dover.

2) Buy up a few square mileage around the castle, and give it to citizens and investors.

3) Use this reward system to instill loyalty and press for autonomy within the macronation San Dover ultimately resides in.

A simple plan, I guess. Perhaps not as rewarding as taking over an island chain. But, this one requires less of a stressful "Hail Mary Pass" than the DSL plans. And I can take my sweet time on it. Truth be told, I hated DSL's plans... But I felt obliged to continue moving forward with them.

So, for San Dover, I'm giving serious consideration into buying an island. There are a few dozen islands for sale in the Mediterranean that go for around 5 million US dollars, not to mention one truly massive one in Greece for 52 million. So, the investment-reward system will likely be utilized to raise the funding for not only purchasing an island, but also building up on it.

EDIT: Oh, yes, and I'm looking at having San Dover exist in Europe. I've wanted to move there ever since I was a 7 or 8 (before I became a micronationalist; hard to believe there ever was a such a time!), and actually even while leading DSL that was still my plan. I guess in a way I've always had two lives: one focused towards getting a good job and raising a family in central Europe, and the other being DSL. For once in my life, these two halves are starting to merge. END EDIT.

Just like for DSL, I would like San Dover to exist on an island or island chain, the main reason being easy access to water, and thus trade shouldn't be a problem, as per freedom of the seas. If I was to build on the mainland, I'd have to deal with being landlocked. Not only would I have to worry about invasion from a less than ideal defensive situation, but I'd also run into the problem of the surrounding nation spiking tariff rates, since all trade to the outside would have to come from their roads and airspace.

I've also decided that since San Dover is a bit more slow-paced than DSL was, and I'm seeking macronational status through diplomatic rather than through invasive techniques, I won't just claim some random island and plan on moving there at a certain time. Right now I will focus on gaining investments, working towards reaching a 10-mil savings mark. Once San Dover has the necessary funds, I'll start island shopping.

I suppose since I have a preliminary plan, I should focus on setting up a functioning government. I plan to model San Dover after European microstates (Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and Liechtenstein), all of which are remnants of subservient kingdoms to nations that no longer exist (mostly the Holy Roman Empire, Andorra being the only special case), and thus their governments still reflect the former status quo. In a way it's a nod to San Dover being a subservient realm to Zenrax.

The economy of San Dover will be a different matter. At heart, I am a socialist, and I would like to implement my ideals in my micronation. Unfortunately, that may scare away investors. While I'm unsure how to deal with this delima in full, I am looking at adopting EU economic guidelines for San Dover, as being beneficial to the public while not stifling the good of capitalism (yes, I do believe there are good things about capitalism; I'm not a total red!). Implementing such policies early may also score some much needed diplomatic points in the future, as I would love to be a part of the EU in say, 50 years.

Also, from the same artist who designed the flag San Dover is using, I have the official state seal, in place of a coat of arms:

San Dover's capital city will be called Hadlow. I found that name in a novel many years ago, and I've liked it ever since. It was either that or New Providence, which was my proposed name for DSL many years ago (I lost the vote there). Hadlow's just a little bit more unique, I think. Could even build a twin city and name it Hadhigh!

Also, since I apparently do not need to adopt Zenrax's currency, San Dover is going to adopt the Euro, mainly because I love the design, but it's also got some decent economic backing. That and if San Dover is to relocate to Europe, having the same currency as your neighbors makes trade easier.
