Greetings from the SSRA!
#1
Can't believe I haven't done this yet. Oh, well.

Hello and Greetings from the Socialist Soviet Republics of Aarbaro (aka. SSRA)!

Originating from the Federal Empire of Aarbaro, which was founded by myself and Nicholas Kaos on the 20th of July 2017 and the later dissolution of the "old Aarbaro". The Socialist Soviet Republics of Aarbaro reconfigured into a glorious new nation on the 30th of September of this year.

Some key information:

Government:
The Government of the SSRA consists of three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Most of the power of the government arguably falls into the Central Soviet Legislature (CSL), a unicameral body, which is formed of representatives elected by direct vote (through a proportional voting system) of the people from their respective republic. All republics are made up of socialist republican government who derive power from communes. All republics constitute into the National government of the SSRA.

The Executive Soviet Council (ESC) is made up of a "triumvirate" of three people. The 3 people become elected in their respective seat in the ESC through 3 ways. One person is voted in by direct popular vote (I'm this person), another is voted and then appointed by the CSL, and the last person of the triumvirate is appointed by the Supreme Court of the SSRA (SCSSRA). The idea behind this is to discourage "one-man power" and prevent over-reaching executive control, by allowing the other 2 branches of government to vote and then appoint their respective person into the Executive branch.

The Executive Soviet Council (ESC) - I, Comrade Artemis (Berry) Langford, am the Executive Soviet Council Representative (essentially the spokesperson for the executive branch in most, if not all, matters). My colleagues are Comrade Charlize Leopold and Comrade Alf Frisker.

The Central Soviet Legislature (CSL) - The CSL appoints two fellow comrade representatives into a "speakership", acting as simultaneous spokespersons for their legislative branch in all matters, and are similar to the speakership of the United States and the United Kingdom. The CSL is currently composed of 8 individuals from their respective republics. The current Co-Speakers of the 1st assembled CSL session is Comrade Co-Speaker Carol O' Collins and Comrade Co-Speaker Alex Lin.

The Supreme Court of the SSRA (SCSSRA) - The Supreme Court of the SSRA is a body made up of currently three people who handle the affairs of the judiciary and the SCSSRA is the supreme independent judiciary of the SSRA. The current Justices of the SSRA are: Comrade Chief Justice Terra Zima, Comrade Justice Bast Al-Amin, and Comrade Justice Bellatrix McKenny.

Constitution and Proclamation of Independence: Widely regarded as the two most revered documents (other than the Communist Manifesto, writings of Eugene V. Debs, and so many respected authors), these two documents can be found here: Constitution of the SSRA and Proclamation of Independence

Geography:
Located somewhere in a region of a macronation in WyomingUnited States of America. Our capital and largest city is Wind River. We have a beautiful and diverse geography. This allows a future and potential economy in mainly agriculture and energy.

Other stuff to know:
  • You may notice the use of "comrade" by comrades of the SSRA, this is used as a respectful use of address and can be used as a substitute for even pronouns. The usage of "comrade" may be held in the light of "socialist or communist" influences, however, we view this form of address as a symbol of unity.
  • We have a pretty cool flag with some nice symbolism. (Please, don't think its a copy of the U.S. flag - its not, even if it does have some resemblance). The flag is attached below.
  • The national anthem of the Socialist Soviet Republics of Aabaro is the glorious The Internationale (American English).
  • We don't have a wiki page yet, though we have a new Discord chat and newspaper
  • We welcome all immigrants (except mean people)!
  • We are ardently socialist if you didn't know.
More to come and any questions are welcomed!

-Workers of the World, Unite!

Regards,
Artemis [Berry] Langford
